Christmas In A Box

In the Bag Cleaners is teaming up with KFDI for the 2011 Christmas In A Box campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to collect items to send to our Kansas troops spending the holiday season in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They are not able to come home for the holidays. Let’s send them a part of Kansas to make their holiday season enjoyable!  These boxes are very important to our brave heroes and they are eagerly anticipating the arrival!

 

 

Help us box up the items at our pack out event on Veteran’s Day, November 11th! It will take place at our 21st & Ridge location from 4 pm-7pm. We can’t wait to see you there!

 

We collect Christmas decorations (small enough to fit in the flat rate boxes), snacks, toiletries and entertainment items. No glass, aerosol, cigarettes, medicine or alcohol.

The main items the troops love are:

Beef Jerky

Slim Jims

Bags of hard Candy (Jolly Ranchers, Skittles, M&M’s, etc.)

Candy bars wrapped in boxes or fun size in full bags (no singles)

Drink mixes (Crystal Light/PowerAde, etc.)

Pop Tarts (full boxes only)

Microwave popcorn (full boxes only)

Cheese Crackers/Peanut butter & Crackers (in full boxes only)

Boxed crackers

Boxed cookies

Pringles

Plastic jars of peanut butter

Small cans of mandarin oranges or fruit

Small cans or bags of coffee (especially flavored coffee)

***Watch expiration dates on all items. They must extend into 2012.***

18 inch trees (Dollar General has these)

Plastic ornaments

Christmas lights (smaller is better, such as 50 light sets)

Garland

Paperback books (new or in very good shape)

Cards and letters from home (they really love letters from kids!)

Deodorant (no spray cans, just roll on please)

Shampoo

Body wash
